University Residences Rates

Housing room rates are the cost of living in University Residences for an academic year (fall/spring semesters). Depending on the room typology and tier, housing room rates will vary based on location, size and amenities.

Room types are categorized as traditional residence hall rooms, suite-style rooms and apartment layouts.

  • Tier 1 rooms typically have community-style bathrooms.
  • Tier 2 rooms typically provide updated amenities and private or semi-private bathrooms.
  • Tier 3 rooms typically will have increased amenities and privacy, including bathrooms. Many of the rooms in this tier are considered move-up options.

Genders are separated by wing, floor, suite or apartment, depending on the residence. Most residences are accessible or partially accessible. All residences are non-smoking. All locations in the undergraduate residences are co-ed except for the following:

  • All Male: Cary Quadrangle, McCutcheon Hall and Tarkington Hall
  • All Female: Meredith Hall, Meredith South and Windsor Halls

For more details about a specific room, please visit the residence hall's web page. Students who are assigned to undergraduate residences and attending Purdue for only one semester may calculate the rate by dividing the academic year rates listed in half.

Room Assignment Process

New students will be randomly prioritized in the housing assignment process and room assignments will be made considering room type preferences. Returning students will be able to reapply for housing as space allows. All students will be able to select which meal plan will work best for them.
