About RHA

RHA (Residence Hall Association) is a university-sponsored student organization representative of all 16,000+ students who live on campus. It serves as the governing body of the residence halls and the platform through which students share their voice and perspective with the leadership of University Residences. The members of RHA are responsible for providing input to develop ideas for activities and programs that improve and enhance the residence hall experience. They also provide diverse social, and educational programs within the residence halls, manage community enhancements, advocate for residents’ needs, facilitate recognition of residence hall leaders, and foster a sense of community and belonging for Purdue on-campus students.  RHA is a co-sponsor of my residence hall and campus events and provides support and resources for individual hall clubs.

Residence Hall Association Special Programs and Initiatives

RHA Day: An annual carnival type event hosted in mid-August that brings together all hall clubs across campus to advertise, network, and recruit new members. This event is a great opportunity to learn about their hall clubs in a fun and festive atmosphere.

Presidents Roundtable: In conjunction with the President of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), RHA facilitates networking, leadership development and collaboration between the various Presidents of the Hall Clubs.

Regional and National Conferences: Purdue University Residence Hall Association is affiliated with the National Association and College and University Residence Halls (NACURH) and the Great Lakes Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (GLACURH). Student leaders are able to attend regional and national leadership conferences to network and learn from and with residence hall leaders from across the United States, Canada, South Africa, and Mexico.

Purdue Leadership Conferences: In collaboration with the National Residence Hall Honorary and University Residences, the Residence Hall Association coordinates an annual leadership conferences, the Jay Severson Student Leadership retreat in the fall.
