Living in University Residences is a convenient and comfortable option close to the experiences you enjoy - sports, programs, concerts, events, clubs and more - with community and academic support to help you succeed.

September 29, 2025, at 9 a.m. EDT – October 5, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. EDT
Sign up for the housing reapplication process begins on September 29 at 9 a.m. EDT in the Housing Portal. Sign up will close on October 5 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. You must opt in and sign the housing application if you are interested in participating in the housing reapplication process. Everyone who opts in during this window will have an equal chance at being selected in the process. You will also identify roommates and roommate preferences or choose express placement to be assigned a space by University Residences if selected. All participants will have an equal opportunity at being selected, regardless of whether they are in a group or not. Group sizes will be weighted to ensure fairness.
NOTE: If you do not opt in to the Housing Reapplication Process by October 5 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, you will not have another opportunity this fall to be assigned or select a room for the 2026-27 academic year.
Residents who participated in the housing reapplication process will receive an email sent to their Purdue email address on October 9. In this email, you will receive one of the following: a time slot to choose a room from available inventory in the Housing Portal, a time slot to be assigned a space by University Residences, or a notification that you were not selected to continue in the reapplication process. Selected residents will be automatically assigned a 14-track meal plan during the reapplication process and will make their final meal plan selection during summer 2026.
If you opt into the process and are not selected, you will be automatically added to the standby list and may be contacted if space becomes available. If you have not received an update by the time the reapplication process concludes, you will have the opportunity to join a wait list in January.
NOTE: Selections are determined randomly.
While feedback from focus groups helped guide general preferences, such as traditional residence halls for newer students and apartment-style living for upper-class students, students from each group will have access to a variety of spaces during their assigned time slot.
The 2026-27 academic year room rates and meal plans have not been approved by the Purdue University Board of Trustees yet. Room rates will be available to view during room selection and will be posted on the Housing Rates webpage as soon as they are approved. Meal plan information will be made available on the Dining & Culinary website.
While the residence halls are a great option, students may also choose to live off campus. If you have questions about moving off-campus, contact Purdue’s Off-Campus Housing Office at offcampushousing@purdue.edu.
