About NRHH

NRHH (National Residence Hall Honorary), is a university sponsored student organization that recognizes the top 1% of Residence Hall student leaders across Purdue's campus.

Our national organization, NACURH ( describes NRHH as:

“The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is the premiere honorary supported by the leading international organization advocating for the interests and welfare of residence hall students, while also providing opportunities for their personal growth and development. NRHH strives to provide recognition for individuals who have contributed to the advancement of college and university housing. It ensures the advancement of member chapters through resource sharing, programming, and leadership development opportunities to contribute and support the vision of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, Incorporated.”

National Residence Hall Honorary Special Programs and Initiatives

Induction: Every year NRHH takes time to recognize student leaders within the residence hall system through a nomination and induction process. The top 1% of student leaders are nominated by their Residence Education Coordinators, Resident Assistants and peers.

Of the Month Awards: The National NRHH organization sponsors that monthly “Of the Month” awards. These awards come in a variety of categories and allows others to nominate those around them for going above and beyond during a specific month. You can find more information here:

Leadership Development: NRHH meets on a bi-weekly basis. Our meetings are a space for involved and busy student leaders to come together in a place with their peers to have network, relax and participate in higher level leadership development activities.

Campus Recognition: Members of NRHH acknowledge the hard work put on by every level of staff within University Residences. It is priority of NRHH to provide recognition to members of our staff and student leaders that go above and beyond for their hard work and commitment to Purdue.

Presidents Roundtable: In conjunction with the President of the Residence Hall Association (RHA), NRHH facilitates networking, leadership development and collaboration between the various Presidents of the Hall Clubs.

Regional and National Conferences: Purdue University Residence Hall Association is affiliated with the National Association and College and University Residence Halls (NACURH) and the Great Lakes Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (GLACURH). Student leaders are able to attend regional and national leadership conferences to network and learn from and with residence hall leaders from across the United States, Canada, South Africa, and Mexico.

Purdue Leadership Conferences: In collaboration with the Residence Hall Association and University Residences, the Residence Hall Association coordinates two annual leadership conferences, the Jay Severson Student Leadership retreat in the fall and the Spring Leadership Institute.
