Summer Housing in Indianapolis
Summer housing is available for undergraduate students who are taking summer session classes or who will be completing summer research for an academic department at Purdue University in Indianapolis. Housing for summer interns can be found in a separate section on the side navigation menu of this page. Please note if you plan to continue living in University Residences in Indianapolis for the 2026-27 academic year, you MUST complete an academic year housing application by the applicable deadline.
You may begin applying through the housing portal beginning February 16, 2026.

This program is only available for new incoming students opting to start during the summer.
Price inclusive of 14 meals per week and housing.

Notification of room assignments will be sent by June 10, 2026, to the student's Purdue email address.
New students who opt to participate in the Early Start program and want to live in University Residences will be required to sign a Think Summer housing application for the summer term as well as an academic year housing application. You MUST complete an academic year housing application by May 5, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
- If you sign for both the summer and academic year terms, your housing and meals will be covered through August 15.
- All efforts will be made to assign you to the same space for the summer and academic year terms, if both terms are contracted for. If you are required to move for the academic year, your move will be coordinated by your assigned hall's main office when your room is ready.
- If you are participating in Boiler Gold Rush (BGR), you will be billed separately.
- Beginning Friday, August 21, 2026, academic year meal plan and housing rates will apply.
Students and staff participating in the Early Start program who do not have an academic year housing application must vacate their summer assignment by 5 p.m. on August 9. Meals will still be provided through August 15.
Important Dates
- April 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM - Priority Deadline for Incoming Freshman to sign their academic year housing application.
- May 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM - Deadline to cancel summer housing application without penalty.
- May 5, 2026 at 11:50 PM - Deadline to sign a 2026-27 academic year housing contract.
- May 6, 2026 at 12:00 PM - Assignment notification for summer school participants begin to be issued.
- June 1, 2026 - Deadline to register for Early Start.
- June 10, 2026 - Summer specialty program participants will receive their housing assignments for the summer and the academic year.
Notes
- Once you apply for summer housing, you will be expected to fulfill all the terms and conditions of the selected summer housing contract term after May 1 for traditional summer school students and June 1 for Think Summer students for summer only.
- After accepting your offer of admission, wait up to two business days to gain access to the housing application.
- Your room charges will be assessed for the entire summer session term you choose and sign an application for – regardless of late arrival or early check-out. You will need to select the summer term that best meets your programmatic needs.
- Summer room and meal plan charges will be assessed and will appear in your MyPurdue account beginning in May.
- While we try to accommodate roommate requests, we cannot ensure these requests will be met.
- If you have a different academic year assignment, you may be asked to move to your fall assignment near the end of the summer session.
Amenities
All summer assignment spaces will be air-conditioned. Small electrical appliances such as coffee pots and popcorn poppers are permitted in student rooms. As a reminder, all University Residence facilities are smoke/vape free.
Parking
Students who have signed a 2026 Summer Housing Contract must login with their IU credentials to purchase a parking permit.
