Mission Statement of University Residences at Purdue University

Delivering a residential campus environment that provides opportunities for personal growth through relationships. We encourage the learning that occurs on the path toward giant leaps, launching Purdue students into the future as civically-minded global citizens.

From the desk of John Eckman, assistant vice provost for student life

Hello and welcome to Purdue University Residences! Congratulations on your admission to the most recognized public university in the nation. We’re excited to serve as your campus home and support your success from the day you move in.

Living in University Residences isn’t just about living close to classes or having a place to sleep. Whether you choose to study in West Lafayette or Indianapolis, you’ll be in the middle of it all, living alongside Boilermakers from around the world. You’ll be able to open your door and experience everything the university has to offer, from events and traditions to student organizations, academic spaces and so much more.

The relationships you make at Purdue will last a lifetime. You might meet your best friend forever! Open your door, study in a lounge, attend a hall event or grab dinner with your floormates. You never know exactly where you’ll find your people, but you’ll have plenty of opportunities to find them in University Residences.

We’re also here to support you academically. You can connect with successful Purdue alumni via award-winning programs, live and learn with other Boilermakers who share your interests in a learning community, find a faculty mentor, and have access to quiet study areas, all within your living space. Dedicated resident assistants and residential life staff are also available to help you when questions or challenges arise.

We offer a variety of housing options and rates to fit your preferences and budget. During our application process, you’ll rank preferences like room type, roommates and air conditioning to help us find the right space for you. All our rooms are furnished and have utilities and Wi-Fi included. This year, we’re excited to welcome our first residents to South Hall, Purdue’s newest residence hall in West Lafayette.

College is an exciting time in your life! We’re here to help make sure you take advantage of the opportunities you have while you’re here. We look forward to serving as your home and helping you find your community here at Purdue.

Boiler Up!
