Get ready, Boilermakers! Purdue Day of Giving, scheduled for April 30, is your opportunity to give back to the old gold and black to ensure the continued success of today’s students.
University Residences and Dining & Culinary provide numerous opportunities for students to develop cherished relationships and memories that will last a lifetime. Through leadership development programs, student employment opportunities, clubs, programs, events and more, students form core memories in their campus communities while developing skills they can use the rest of their lives. A new residence hall south of Hillenbrand will further these efforts.
From meeting a lifelong best friend at a floor event to finding a cherished mentor through a student job, generations of Boilermakers have been impacted by programs in University Residences and Dining & Culinary. With the support of Purdue alumni, students, friends, family, faculty, staff and retirees, we can ensure these experiences continue and grow for the next generation of Boilermakers.
This year, University Residences and Dining & Culinary will be focusing fundraising efforts in the following areas.
Barb Frazee Endowment for Executive in Residence
Funds contributed to this endowment support University Residences’ unique Executive in Residence program, which brings successful alumni back to campus where they live among students for one week. Funds contributed to the endowment support all aspects of the program including meals with executives, special events, one-on-one consulting opportunities, an annual spring break trip and other EiR events and programs.
UR Student Leadership Programs
The University Residences Student Leadership Programs fund supports the Leadership Academy, formally known as the Men's and Women's Leadership Series, in addition to the Jay Severson Leadership Retreat, and other unique student leadership experiences specific to those living on campus.

These trainings will help students grow their communication, leadership, decision-making, problem-solving and teamwork skills. By investing in our student employees, we strengthen our ability to serve the university community with excellence.

Why Support University Residences and Dining & Culinary?
Your donation helps impact student programs and recognize outstanding students for their efforts.
"Winning the Lanny C. Wilson Scholarship last year was incredibly rewarding,” wrote Jimmy Phillips, a resident assistant in Provenance/Aspire and a student manager in Windsor Dining Court. “It felt like I was finally seen and recognized for the great work that I thought I was doing, it validated the effort I was putting in. Winning that award told me ‘Yes, people do appreciate the things you do.’ The financial benefit was also very good. Having that extra $750 allowed me to worry less about how I was going to pay for my next semester. I knew that my textbooks would be covered and I would have some extra money to put towards my tuition. Worrying less about money allows me to focus more on my academics, which is the whole reason I'm at Purdue in the first place."
