Alumni and Friends Invited to Participate in Purdue's "Wackiest" 5K

Alumni and friends are invited to participate in the third annual Wacky Dacky Rubber Ducky 5K Fun Walk Run Roll Race, sponsored by the Residence Hall Association and Purdue Student Government, scheduled for Sunday, April 13 at 10 a.m.

Purdue’s most exciting 5K features five wacky stops on the course, all optional for racers to participate in. Racers line up near the iconic Purdue Gateway to the Future. The booms from The World’s Largest Drum signify the start of the race and racers follow the pace car, the Boilermaker Extra Special.

Participants can run, walk or roll their way through campus on a route that passes many of the residence halls and “wacky” stops. Over the course of the route, participants can enjoy coffee and donuts from Owen Hall’s Hussar club, jam out with a DJ and pancakes presented by McCutcheon Hall’s Royal Highlanders Club, duck your way through bubbles with the Honors College and Residences Hall Club, quack for ice cream and enjoy water guns with Wiley Hall’s Excalibur Club at the last station.

Competitive and casual participants are encouraged to join this fun event. Registration costs $10 and participants receive a medal, t-shirt and access to the finishing area featuring a bouncy castle, free food and Purdue Pete, who is ready to celebrate your victory.

Proceeds from the race go to benefit Generosity Feeds, which is working to feed hungry children in every county across America so all children have the opportunity to thrive. Last year’s race featured over 600 participants and raised funds to provide 8,000 meals to fight food insecurity in the Greater Lafayette community.
