We’re excited to share an update for 2025-2026 academic year housing. A total of 10,276 students opted into this year’s University Residence (UR) Housing Reapplication process. With space for 8,500 students to select a room, approximately 82.7% of those who entered will receive a housing assignment.
This year, students will have the opportunity to select from 9,500 beds across our UR housing system, ensuring a broad range of options to match varying preferences and budgets. We’ve made adjustments to better meet student needs: returning students will find more rooms in UR apartments and semi-private setups, offering increased privacy and independence, while incoming students in fall 2025 will have expanded access to centrally located, traditional UR residences that foster a strong sense of campus community. Unused beds from the reapplication process will be returned to the pool for new students next year.
Students who were not initially offered housing through reapplication were automatically placed in a stand-by category, arranged in randomized order, and may receive a call from University Residences if students with a selection time decide not to move forward with the process. The stand-by list will close December 20. University Residences has already begun offering time slots to students not initially selected in the reapplication process because of cancellations.
In January, we will open a waitlist, available to all current residents, for any beds that may become available during the spring semester. Any beds not selected through this process will be held for next year’s incoming class, ensuring that our newest students have access to UR housing options as they transition to campus life.
Keep an eye on your email for updates on the selection process and details on room availability. We look forward to helping you find your campus home!
