Reapply for Housing for the 2025-26 Academic Year!

2025-26 Indianapolis Housing Reapplication Process

CHANGE ME

All students living in University Residences have the opportunity to apply to continue living on campus at Purdue. Living on campus allows you to continue enjoying experiences such as programs, hall clubs and leadership opportunities while enjoying the convenience of a meal plan and having easy access to all that campus has to offer. Rooms are available to accommodate your preferred living situation and budget.

The housing reapplication process for 2025-26 has been revised based on co-design with student representatives, who have provided student feedback for new housing selection methods. Our goal for the housing reapplication process was to create an equitable experience for all residents. This year, the housing reapplication process will be a lottery system. Due to the high demand for campus housing, we will have approximately 8,400 beds available for returning residents. All residents who are selected in the lottery will be able to choose a room from available inventory. Students must opt into the lottery if you wish to select housing this fall.

Opt into Lottery

NOTE: If you do not opt in to the Housing Reapplication Lottery by October 22 at 5 p.m. EDT, you will not have another opportunity to select a room this fall.

Step 2: Lottery Email Notification

By October 28, 2024

Residents who participated in the Housing Reapplication Lottery will receive an email sent to their Purdue email address on October 28. In this email, you will either receive a date and time (time slot) to choose a room in the housing portal or a notification that you were not selected for reapplication. All students who are selected in the lottery will be able to choose a room from inventory available during their assigned time slot. Selected residents will be automatically assigned a 14-track meal plan during the reapplication process and will make their final meal plan selection during summer 2025.

If you opt into the lottery and are not selected, you may be offered open space if it becomes available in December or have the opportunity to join a waitlist in January.

NOTE: Lottery selections are determined randomly.

Step 3: Room Selection and Confirm your Housing Contract

November 1 – November 22, 2024

Starting November 1, residents who were provided a time slot will have an assigned six-hour window to select their room from available inventory, either from 6 a.m. – 12 p.m. EDT or 1 – 7 p.m. EDT. If residents selected a roommate group, the group will be provided one time slot to reserve a space.  Roommate groups are weighted accordingly to not give an unfair advantage.

Time slots are divided into two groups: upper-division students and current first-year students. Each group will have their own scheduled opportunities in the portal for an assigned six-hour time slot. During their assigned time slot, residents can change their selection until the six-hour time slot has ended. Once the time slot has ended, the room selection will be considered their final selection. If a resident misses or cannot make their time slot, there will be an opportunity for them to select a room on a make-up day at the end of their group’s room selection process. Please see the detailed schedules below.

Upper-division students (rising juniors and seniors) will have the first selection of spaces available, followed by current first-year students. Each group will have its own scheduled opportunities in the portal, different room type availability and different binding dates.

Beds identified for each group will be available within that room’s selection phase.
